Het Nationaal Archief van Curacao heeft in 2021 samen met de Nationale Archieven van Suriname en Nederland, alsmede het gouvernement van St. Maarten en de stichting Nationaal Archeologisch en Anthroplogisch Memory Management (NAAM) een gezamenlijke nominatie ingediend voor het Memory of the World<\/a> programma van de UNESCO van de “Documentary Heritage of the Enslaved People of the Dutch Caribbean and their decendants<\/em>“. We hopen dat de UNESCO commissies onze nominatie zullen erkennen. We zullen dat over ca. een jaar horen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van de Curacao-collecties van het Nationaal Archief gaat het om de Slavenregisters, de digitale DBase op de gekoppelde slaven- en emancipatieregisters<\/a> , de collectie “Juliana-Brenneker”. Allen zijn ook digitaal in ons inventaris overzicht te raadplegen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017 is een deel van deze nominatie al erkend voor het Regionale register van UNESCO’s Memory of the World for Latin American and Caribbean Countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2009 werd een archiefstuk van ons ook al erkend als Memory of the World. Dat is de \u201cCatecismo Cortico\u201d. Dit is het oudste in het Papiamentu gedrukte boekwerkje dat werd gepubliceerd.
Het betreft een catechismus, geschreven door Mgr. Nieuwindt, gepubliceerd in het jaar 1837. Dit boekje is een schenking aan het Nationaal Archief van wijlen Maritsa Coomans-Eustatia, bibliothecaris van beroep en auteur van vele historische werken. Het Memory of the World<\/a> programma van de UNESCO is ingesteld om documentair erfgoed, van belang voor het geheugen van de mensheid, te beschermen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
